Bhindi n Aaloo ki sabji (Lady’s finger and potato Curry!!)


  • Bhindi (Lady’s finger)
  • 250 gm, cut into two halves of 2 inches each
  • Potatoes 1-2 medium, peeled and cut ( small pieces)
  • Salt 1 tsp or according to taste
  • Red chili 1 tsp or according to taste
  • Panch-phoran 1 tsp
  • Haldi (Turmeric) 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Zeera (Cumin) powder 1 tsp
  • Kitchen king 1 tsp (optional)
  • Ginger and garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Tomato 2 small
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Fresh green Chili 1-2 or according to taste
  • Fresh Coriander leaves to garnish.
  • Cooking oil 1/4 cup


  • Make a paste of Onion and tomato with green chili
  • Heat oil in kadhai (fry pan) and add panch-phoran
  • Now add potatoes and after 2-3 minutes add Bhindi and fry till light brown in color
  • Add haldi, red chili, salt, coriander powder, zeera powder, kitchen king and stir
  • Cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes (cover up the kadhai with a lid)
  • Check the potatoes, if they are done (are soft) then add the paste of rest ingredients and stir
  • Fry them till the spices are brown in color
  • If you see some extra oil beneath the spices then it’s the signal that curry is ready
  • Remove from stove
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with Paratha/Phulka
